Thomas Edward Seitz, Atlanta, Georgia Death- Has Sadly Passed Away After a Courageous Battle With Cancer

Family and friends are mourning the loss of Thomas Edward Seitz, 30, of Georgia, who passed away peacefully on June 12th at his home surrounded by loved ones after a courageous battle with cancer. His passing has left a deep void in the hearts of all who knew him, but his memory continues to shine through the many lives he touched with kindness, humor, and unwavering strength.

Born on July 14th, 1995, in Atlanta, Georgia, to Sherrie and Edward Seitz, Thomas grew up surrounded by a close and loving family. He was a devoted brother to Brianna (Joey), Jeffrey (Mary), and Jackson, and a cherished son whose presence brought warmth and joy to family life. From an early age, he developed a love for sports—especially baseball—and carried that enthusiasm throughout his life. He also had a remarkable memory and affection for storytelling, often quoting Lord of the Rings with ease and humor.

Thomas’s curiosity and passion for learning led him to the University of Notre Dame, where he earned a degree in Accounting. His time there was especially meaningful, as it was where he met his beloved wife, Emily. Together, they built a life filled with adventure, love, and shared memories across cities including South Bend, Chicago, Atlanta, Omaha, Indianapolis, and ultimately St. Petersburg, Florida, where they married on June 14th, 2025. Their bond was marked by companionship, laughter, and simple joys—especially peaceful walks with their cherished dog, Ruby.

He is remembered not only as a husband and brother, but as a loving uncle to Summer, Harper, Bode, Birdie, and Shep, and as a grandson to Diane and Marilyn. Thomas also held close relationships with his extended family, including his mother-in-law Chris, father-in-law Jim, brother-in-law Brad (Katherine), sister-in-law Erin, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He leaves behind a wide circle of friends whose lives were deeply enriched by his presence.

Thomas was preceded in death by his grandfathers John and John. Despite the challenges of his illness, he faced each day with remarkable grace, optimism, and a steadfast desire to uplift those around him. His courage and positivity throughout his cancer journey inspired all who walked alongside him.

A funeral Mass will be held at the University of Notre Dame Basilica of the Sacred Heart on June 22nd, followed by interment at Cedar Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or St. Raphael Catholic Church in his honor.

Thomas Edward Seitz will be remembered for his strength, love, and enduring legacy of compassion.
